Retrosaur Challenge 5: Duck-Billed Goliath

    Dorsucristanas ornatus (“ornate ridge crest duck”) was a duck billed goliath of the late Cretaceous period of North America. It possessed tall vertebral struts and two concave crests on its skull which may have been connected by soft tissue in life to form a fin or hump. Scientists have speculated that this ridge along its back in combination with the crests may have been for display and could have been accompanied by bright colors and other soft tissue structures which would not have preserve in fossils.
